Shooting, Reported Stabbing at End of Violent Weekend in Boston

One man was shot and another was reportedly stabbed Sunday night in Boston at the end of a violent weekend for the city.

Boston police confirm a man was shot just before 11 p.m. on Columbia Road and Hamlet Street in the city's Dorchester neighborhood.

The victim, who has not been identified, took himself to Boston Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. His current condition is unclear.

Minutes before responding to the shooting, officers were at the scene of a reported stabbing on McDonough Way in South Boston, according to the Boston Globe. The stabbing victim's condition is unclear at this time.

In all, seven people were shot the city's Roxbury, Mattapan and Dorchester neighborhoods, the Globe reported.

In Roxbury, four people were wounded in a shooting at a house party. Thirty-year-old Anthony Sheffield was charged with three counts of armed assault with intent to murder and unlawful possession of a handgun. He's due in court on Monday, and it's unclear if he has an attorney.

A man was seriously injured in a shooting near a Burger King on Cummins Highway in the city's Mattapan section just before midnight on Friday, and another man was grazed by a bullet on Elder Street in Dorchester about an hour later overnight Saturday, according to the Globe.
