A man was arrested by Provincetown police after he allegedly punched a woman in the face and grabbed a child.
The Cape Cod Times reported that Daniel Tripp, 40, yelled racial slurs at a group of young black people near town hall, and later grabbed one by the shirt. When a woman intervened, Tripp punched her in the face, according to a report.
The woman's husband grabbed Tripp and held him to the ground until police arrived.
It was not Tripp's first encounter with the police, according to a report. The man from Wellfleet pleaded not guilty to two counts of assault and battery, one count of disorderly conduct and one count of battery to intimidate. His bail is $500.
