Three people were killed and a fourth suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash that went unnoticed for possibly more than 12 hours in Hampton Falls, New Hampshire.
The driver has been identified as Jacob Raymond, 21, of Exeter. The two passengers killed have been identified as Sarah Frost, 18, of Exeter, and Stephen Hansen, 22, of Seabrook.
The third passenger, who was taken to Portsmouth Regional Hospital with life-threatening injuries, has been identified as 19-year-old Manchester resident Daniel Petruzzelli.
Investigators believe the crash happened Saturday evening, possibly as early as 6:30 p.m., but it wasn't reported until 11 a.m. Sunday, when a passer-by walking along the roadway noticed the car hidden by some trees.
State police say a preliminary investigation shows the 2009 Nissan Altima was traveling west on Route 88 when it went off the road going around a curve and struck a stand of trees.
Excessive speed appears to be a contributing factor to the crash, but the accident remains under investigation.
