Authorities are investigating the discovery of a woman's body Monday afternoon in a Springfield, Massachusetts, pond.
Fire officials responded to File Mile Pond just after 1 p.m. after fishermen reported seeing a body in the water.
Firefighters were able to recover the body a short time later.
Springfield Police Department spokesman Ryan Walsh confirmed the body is a female and said the major crimes unit was investigating.
No other details were available.
