2 Dogs Rescued After Woman Allegedly Sells Them at Lynn Flea Market

The two Shih Tzus have been treated at a Massachusetts shelter and will be put up for adoption soon

A woman was reportedly roaming around Lynnway Mart, a flea market in Lynn, trying to sell her two Shih Tzus over the weekend, an activity prohibited by the state of Massachusetts.

The dogs, unkempt and unhealthy, were purchased for $90 by two Good Samaritans who sought to rescue the dogs. The Good Samaritans then brought the dogs to a kennel in Revere where the Animal Rescue League of Boston was contacted.

Both dogs were taken by officials to an ARL shelter in Boston, where they were spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. The facility's medical staff also performed surgical hernia repairs on the Shih Tzus.

The dogs -- 2- and 6-years-old -- are expected to be put up for adoption soon.

Police are still searching for the woman who sold the dogs. She has been described as a heavy-set woman driving a dark-colored Toyota. Anyone with information is asked to call 617-426-9170.
