FBI, local authorities search property in Plainville as part of ongoing investigation

Federal agencies are assisting the Plainville Police Department in the area of 71 Messenger Street.

Local, state and federal agencies searched a property in Plainville, Massachusetts, on Friday afternoon as part of an ongoing investigation.

Among those at the scene were FBI Boston’s Evidence Response Team and the ATF, according to an FBI spokesperson.

Plainville Police Chief James Floyd said the search was in response to information gathered during the investigation into a narcotics and assault case. Floyd did not specify what the agencies were looking for or if anything was found during the three-day search at a property on Messenger Street.

Floyd said an arrest was made during the narcotics and assault investigation.

The investigation was ongoing. No other details were provided.
