Lil Nas X at Patriots' Opener? Rapper Wants in on Tom Brady's Invite

Tom Brady: six-time Super Bowl champion, three-time NFL MVP ... event booker?

The Patriots quarterback put on his recruiting hat Tuesday to suggest Lil Nas X, who performed at a pregame concert for the Boston Bruins' Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final, take his act down the "Old Town Road" to New England's 2019 opener at Gillette Stadium in September.

And when the GOAT asks you to perform at the Super Bowl champions' season opener, you accept.

So, do we have a date?

... Maybe. The NFL did hold a free kickoff concert in Boston before the Patriots' 2017 season opener, which followed their Super Bowl LI victory.

New England won't play in the NFL's 2019 opener this year -- it plays on the night of Sunday, Sept. 8, against the Pittsburgh Steelers, while the Chicago Bears host the Green Bay Packers on Thursday night -- but there still should be plenty of festivities as the Patriots unfurl their sixth Super Bowl banner at Gillette Stadium.

Perhaps Lil Nas X (ironically an Atlanta native) will be a part of those festivities thanks to Brady's recruiting efforts.
