Man Dies in Industrial Accident in Danvers, Massachusetts

A man died after he was injured in an industrial accident in Danvers, Massachusetts on Tuesday morning.

Police and fire responded to 30 Endicott St. shortly after 8:30 a.m. for an industrial accident at ITW Polymers, also known as Devcon. 

The Boston Globe reports the man was installing or servicing a piece of equipment when he fell off a ladder. Upon arrival, emergency crews found a conscious and alert 35- to 40-year-old male with severe injuries.

The man was readied to be transported by a medical helicopter, but his condition worsened and he was taken to Beverly Hospital. Efforts were made to resuscitate him, but he was subsequently pronounced dead.

The victim's identity is being withheld pending notification of his family. Fire officials said he was not an employee of ITW Polymers.

The accident is under investigation by the Danvers Police Department, state police assigned to the district attorney's office and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
