Federal authorities say a 29-year-old Haverhill, Massachusetts man has admitted his role in an illegal gun buy.
Jose Camara, Jr., pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court Tuesday to conspiracy to make a false statement during a gun buy.
Acting U.S. Attorney Donald Feith says the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives used an informant to buy guns from Jason Martinez starting in August 2014. He says Martinez and others had Camara buy guns for them because he had a New Hampshire identification to show sellers and would claim he was buying the guns for himself.
Feith says Camara bought eight guns on three separate occasions.
He faces up to 10 years in prison when he is sentenced.
Martinez has already pleaded guilty to conspiracy and awaits sentencing.
