A person was fatally struck by a vehicle in Boston on Tuesday morning, police said.
Police initially said it was a pedestrian who was hit, and that they had life-threatening injuries. Officials at the scene said the person who was hit was a cyclist. Officers were called to the scene about 10:08 a.m.

The victim's uncle told NBC10 Boston he was a cook at a restaurant, coming here from Honduras years ago with a younger brother.
"He’s a really good boy. He lived with me right there on Hano Street. We shared the rooms.”

He added that his nephew used his motorized bike to get to his job. He uses one as well and says they meet every day at a coffee shop in Cambridge. He got a call about what happened when his nephew didn’t show up this morning.
"He is the best. A good person. Always together with me, we fixing bikes. I bring him here to this country.”
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, but the truck was stopped in a crosswalk - just steps from the busy and heavily trafficked Union Square.
