A North Attleboro police officer was injured overnight after a car crashed into the cruiser on I-95 southbound.
The crash occurred around 9:25 p.m. Thursday while the police officer was detailing a construction site south of Exit 5 in Attleboro, Massachusetts State Police said.
The North Attleboro officer was taken to Sturdy Memorial Hospital with minor injuries and the driver of the other car was taken to a Rhode Island hospital with a lower body injury, state police said. Attleboro Fire and EMS also responded.
The crash caused traffic to backup for miles on I-95 southbound until it was cleared shortly after 11 p.m. Two right lanes were closed at 10 p.m. but the left lane was open for travel.
