The campus of Tufts University is on alert after a student says she was assaulted on Tuesday night.
Around 8:20 p.m., the student reported to both Medford and Tufts campus police that she was assaulted in the area of Adams Street. She said that the suspect approached her from behind and grabbed her around the waist before breaking free and fleeing the scene. She was not physically injured.
The victim described her assailant as a white male wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt and jeans. A search of the area did not turn up a suspect, and the incident remains under investigation.
