Police in New Hampshire say a man killed himself after shooting his wife in Rochester.
A 47-year-old Rochester man shot and killed himself around 6:40 a.m. Tuesday after he shot his 45-year-old wife, according to a news release from police.
Rochester Police Chief Paul Toussaint said that the department received a 911 call from a woman who lives on Sunrise Drive. She said that she was shot by her husband, and that he had shot and killed himself.
The woman was brought to Portsmouth Regional Hospital with serious injuries, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. Rochester police are investigating the domestic violence incident as an attempted murder-suicide, but the medical examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.
"There is no danger to the community, and this does not appear to be a random act," the release said. "No suspects are at large at this time."
