A driver was killed when their SUV was hit by another one on Interstate 93 in New Hampshire just north of the Massachusetts border on Feb. 1, police said.
The crash closed the highway to southbound traffic in Salem at about 4:25 p.m., according to New Hampshire State Police.

Investigators believe the driver of a Hyundai Santa Fe failed to slow down in time to avoid heavy traffic about 0.2 miles from the border and hit a Chevrolet Trax, police said.
The Trax' driver was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, despite firefighters' attempts at life-saving measures, police said.

Police identified the man who was killed on Wednesday as 48-year-old Jermaine Adams, of Haverhill, Massachusetts. The driver of the Santa Fe was identified as 59-year-old William Russel of Merrimack, New Hampshire.
No charges have been announced, though the investigation remains ongoing, police said, asking anyone with information about what happened to call investigators at 603-451-9782.
The highway was closed for about three hours while officials processed the scene.
