MassDOT spokesperson Jacquelyn Goddard provided an update just before 8 a.m., saying the crash involved serious injury.

Rowley police said the crash occurred at 5:51 a.m. Preliminary investigation indicates that both vehicles were driving south on Route 1 when the tractor-trailer attempted to turn left onto Route 133, colliding with the motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, a 64-year-old Salisbury man, was taken by medical helicopter to a Boston hospital.

The tractor-trailer driver, a 25-year-old Rowley man, was not injured.

The scene was cleared around 8:30 a.m., police said.
