A lucky pup was rescued Monday morning by police in Springfield, Massachusetts, after it fell through the ice.
Officers at the State Police Springfield Barracks wrote on Facebook that they responded to a call about a dog that had fallen through the ice near Interstate 291.
Trooper Jonathan Blanchard surveyed the area and was able to find the dog. He called the Springfield Fire Department, which successfully rescued the freezing dog.
Police say the dog had been reported missing earlier that morning and was reunited with his family.
