Cheat Day? Tom Brady Abandons Strict Diet for Pizza in Nashville

It seems like Brady is willing to make a few exceptions to his diet

Tom Brady is known for his strict diet, but the Patriots’ star apparently allows himself a cheat day every once in a while.

Over the weekend, Brady indulged in some pizza with a few teammates, according to the Boston Herald. A group of Pats players visited DeSano Pizza Bakery in Nashville, where they ate some specialty pies.

The Patriots quarterback was joined by receiver Julian Edleman and offensive lineman David Andrews. They appeared to have enjoyed a "San Gennaro" pizza, which has sausage, caramelized onions and mozzarella di bufala, the Herald reports.

Brady reportedly planned to bulk up during the offseason. The plan was to start the season weighing around 232 pounds, nine pounds more than his weight at the end of the 2018 season. However, the plan didn’t include a diet change.

DeSano Pizza Bakery has locations nationwide with restaurants in Tennessee, California, Texas and North Carolina. The Nashville location that Brady visited is the original DeSano Pizza Bakery.

The Patriots were in Nashville for their second preseason game. They defeated the Titans 22-17 on Saturday. Brady didn’t play in the game.
