The Atlantic White Shark Conservancy said the 10-foot female shark 'may be a shark we know'

A white shark was unintentionally caught in water off the coast of Massachusetts on Saturday.

The Atlantic White Shark Conservancy said on Facebook that the 10-foot immature female shark was brought to Scituate after being caught in a gillnet.

Scientists from the Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries and NOAA Fisheries Service were on scene Saturday to take samples from the shark.

A necropsy was performed on the shark.

The remains of one striper and part of a seal were found in the shark's stomach.

The conservancy said on Twitter that it "may be a shark we know. Stay tuned."
