Police Identify Victim in Fatal Crash in Saugus

Authorities removed the driver from the car and took them via sled to a waiting ambulance.

A person who was pulled from an overturned car after it crashed through a garage in Saugus, Massachusetts has died.

Police say Steven Rauseo, 74, was seriously injured after his car crashed through a garage and went down an embankment.

First responders responded to 31 Hammersmith Drive around 1:30 p.m. Sunday, removed the driver from the car and took him via sled to a waiting ambulance. Rauseo was transported to a local hospital and was later pronounced dead, officials said.

Rauseo, of Saugus, was the lone occupant of the car.

The crash is under investigation, according to Ronald Giorgetti, the interim police chief.

The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection has also responded to the scene after a report of an oil leak, police said.
