Alysha Palumbo: My dad Tom Palumbo has been an inspiration throughout my life. He got me running at a young age, starting with the annual Tony's Sutton Pizza Road Race. Here our family was cheering him on at a marathon in Rhode Island (full disclosure: I told him it was ok to quit when he hit a wall around mile 20, but he finished!). I also followed in his footsteps loving math and computers. He always had time, or would make time, to help me out when I needed it as a kid...and he still does today. Now as a parent myself, I love watching how my 3-year-old son Bryce learns from him and looks up to him. Happy Fathers' Day Dad!!

Michael Page: The running joke in our family is how similar my Dad is to his father, and now how similar to them I'm becoming! Lucky for me that means I have someone to explore new things with. This picture was taken while my Dad (Dave) and I checked out one of San Juan, Puerto Rico's famous forts.

Jackie Bruno: My dad has four daughters. I'm the oldest. We've definitely gave him plenty of stress over the years. Still, he loves his girls! He's always been our biggest champion and helps us believe in ourselves.
18/63
Jackie Bruno: Now, Dad's a first time grandfather to my son Jack Bear! We gave him the middle name Bear after my dad. He was the brown bear at Brown University when he was in college. Bears are strong and I hope my son inherits my Dad's strength!
19/63
Jackie Bruno: It's also my husband's first Father's Day!! I'm so impressed with how he's adapted to fatherhood. He's not afraid to change a diaper and doles out a lot of love to our little boy Jack!

Brian Shactman: No son can truly separate from the fact that we share similarities with our fathers. Now, I did not follow him with the plaid shorts (although I kind of like them), I did follow his path in both sports and college, growing up with a passion for hockey and attending Amherst College, some thirty years after he did. So, from the days when we watch the ships come in to dock in Nantucket, to coming to my games … to now, when he comes to visit, well, his grandchildren … thanks, Dad.

Katherine Underwood: Even as a journalist, whose job is to find the right words for every story, I cannot think of any way to explain the immense gratitude and appreciation I feel in my heart for all that my dad has done for our family. He's made it his life's work to make our lives happy. He's supported me, guided me, and given my sister and me all we've ever needed to be successful. He's the anchor of our family, with super-hero strength that's lead us through some of life's most trying times. To my dad, my first love, my forever hero - Happy Father's Day!

Alison King
Alison King says: "This is my first Father's Day without my father. Jackson King died last July after a battle with Alzheimer's. I'm so sad he's gone, but I feel incredibly fortunate to have had him for as long as I did. Despite a busy career with his own law firm in New Haven, Connecticut, he was home every night for dinner and never missed a school or athletic event involving one of his 4 children. Dad was one of the most disciplined people I've ever known. He was up almost every day at 5 a.m. to play tennis before work, he read three newspapers a day and was a voracious reader of novels, biographies and books on politics and history. He had a steel trap for a memory and had no problem reciting baseball and football statistics dating back to the 60s. Dad went to Colgate University on a full academic scholarship, the first in his family to go to college. He was a fantastic athlete who played two or three varsity sports every year and still holds a punting record at Colgate. He served in Japan with the Marines and then went to Columbia Law School. The most memorable part of his funeral for me was seeing all his clients and former clients, some going back decades, who told stories of Dad - about his honesty and integrity and the good advice they received from him. Happy Father's Day Dad! I miss you."
