It's strawberry season so grab the family and head on out to one of dozens of local farms across the region and pick your own. While you're at it stop into a strawberry festival or two and really celebrate the season.

Connors Farm, Danvers

The strawberry fields are open for picking at Connors Farm located in Danvers. The farm is also gearing up for its annual Strawberry Festival on Saturday, June 23 (rain date June 24) where you can enjoy live music, jumping pillow, farm animals, hayrides, cow train, duck races and more. 30 Valley Road, Danvers. 

Smolak Farms, North Andover

Strawberry picking season kicks off at Smolak Farms in North Andover with the farm’s annual Strawberry Festival on Sunday, June 17. Enjoy strawberry picking from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Father’s Day and enjoy activities including: a bounce house, inflatable slide, face painting, spin art, plant-your-own strawberries and rides on their cow train. 315 South Bradford St., North Andover.

Cider Hill Farm, Amesbury

Strawberry picking is open at Cider Hill Farm in Amesbury. Celebrate the beginning of the season this weekend with the farm’s Strawberry Festival on Saturday, June 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Enjoy hayrides, live music, lawn games and more. 45 Fern Ave., Amesbury.

Parlee Farms, Tyngsboro

The strawberry fields are open for picking at Parlee Farms in Tyngsboro. While you’re there stop by and say hello to their goats, sheep and bunnies in their animal area. 95 Farwell Road, Tyngsboro.

Belkin Family Lookout Farm, Natick

Strawberry picking starts the week of June 18 at Belkin Family Lookout Farm, one of the oldest continuously working farms in the U.S. Located in South Natick, Lookout Farm sits on 180 acres and boasts more than 60,000 fruit trees. 89 Pleasant St., South Natick.

Verrill Farm, Concord

Pick-your-own strawberries starts Thursday, June 14 at Verrill Farm in Concord. This year the farm is celebrating its 100 year anniversary, so you don’t want to miss their Strawberry Festival & 100 Year Festivities on Saturday, June 23 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Enjoy cookie decorating, Bart's Strawberry ice cream & birthday cake served in the stand at 1 p.m., horse drawn hay rides, pony rides, free entertainment and event a strawberry dessert recipe contest. 11 Wheeler Road, Concord.

Tougas Family Farm, Northborough

Head on over to Tougas Family Farm in Northborough for some strawberry picking and while you’re there stop by their barnyard, playground and farm kitchen for family-friendly activities for the entire family. 234 Ball St., Northborough.

Ward’s Berry Farm, Sharon

It’s strawberry picking season at Ward’s Berry Farm in Sharon from mid to late June. While you’re there, stop by the 4H Barnyard to make some four-legged friends or how about a pony ride? 614 South Main St., Sharon.
