2 Pedestrians Hurt in Separate Crashes in Haverhill Intersection

Police in Haverhill, Massachusetts, are investigating two unrelated pedestrian crashes in the same intersection around the same time Monday night.

Both crashes took place around 8 p.m. at the intersection of Main Street and 5th Avenue, according to Haverhill Police.

One pedestrian was seriously injured in one of the crashes. The driver in that crash remained on the scene, police said.

In the other crash, the pedestrian's injuries were not considered life-threatening. The driver involved in that crash fled the scene. No vehicle description was available.

Both victims were taken to local hospitals.

The intersection is closed to traffic as police investigate.
