Following the recent murder of a Massachusetts town employee, the Essex County District Attorney’s Office released a cryptic message to residents on Thursday.

Retired Groveland town building inspector Patsy Schena was found dead in his Governors Road home on Friday night. Officials said the victim had multiple wounds.

"In light of this shocking crime, which is still under investigation, I think people should exercise reasonable caution," a statement from the DA’s Office said.

Authorities are still investigating the death. Groveland Police Chief Jeff Gillen said Schena’s death is the first murder in the town since 1992.

No arrests have been made in connection to the murder.
