What Happened? Malcolm Butler Answers Questions About Super Bowl Benching
    NBC Sports - Boston
Malcolm Butler had a good wisecrack about Patriots Super Bowl benching

Time heals all wounds, and it looks like Malcolm Butler is to the point where he can joke about his final game with the New England Patriots.

Following a joint practice session with his old team Thursday, the Tennessee Titans cornerback was asked for the umpteenth time about being benched during the Patriots' Super Bowl LII loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

But this time, Butler took a humorous approach with his answer.

"I have no regrets at all," Butler told reporters, via WEEI.com's Ryan Hannable. "I graded out at 99 percent, one punt return rep. It was great."

Butler indeed was on the field for exactly one Super Bowl LII snap, a Patriots punt return. There are plenty of theories as to why he didn't play more, and that speculation will continue until New England head coach Bill Belichick offers a full explanation that likely will never come.

When asked if Belichick had given him any answers, Butler replied:

"Where the Hoodie at? You have to go ask him. It's the past and I am past that."

We detect some sarcasm in these comments, but Butler insisted he harbors no ill will toward a Patriots team that helped launch his NFL career, which is entering its sixth season.

"I enjoyed my time there and everything happens for a reason," he added. "I am happy I am still in the NFL. I have a great relationship with those guys. It's all good."
