A man with drunken driving arrests dating back to 1979 has pleaded not guilty after being arrested in North Attleboro, Massachusetts, for a 9th OUI charge.
Police say Stephen Taylor, 57, of Cambridge, drove through a red light in front of an officer on Route 1. When pulled over, police found a 12-pack of beer with two missing cans. Taylor allegedly told police he drank two beers earlier in the day.
His wife, Barbra, was also a passenger in the car.
It was learned that Taylor was wanted on two arrest warrants for traffic offenses. Police say the license plate and registration sticker on his car belonged to other vehicles.
Taylor appeared in Attleboro District Court Monday morning and pleaded not guilty to the OUI charge, driving without a license and multiple other charges.
He is being held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing Wednesday.
