Massachusetts state troopers and Boston police began a search at around 4:30 a.m. Friday for someone who jumped off the Beades Bridge on Morrissey Boulevard near Malibu Beach, according to a spokesperson with state police. A bridge operator had told authorities that two people had been jumping.

The man who had jumped into the ocean apparently swam to shore south of Malibu Beach and went to his job in Norwell. Once it was confirmed that he was, in fact, at work, all units cleared the search scene.
The men are both Dorchester residents, ages 24 and 34. A black 2008 Ford Crown Victoria believed to have been occupied by the two men earlier in the night was located on the shore nearby.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, state police said.
