A four-year-old child was injured Monday night after being struck by a vehicle in Lowell, Massachusetts.
The child was struck at 7:18 p.m. at the intersection of Marshall Avenue and Stevens Street.
Police said the female driver initially took off then returned to the scene briefly to speak with whoever was with the child.
The child was taken to Lowell General Hospital with a severe laceration to the head, according to police.
Authorities said the driver was found by a Lowell officer on Broadway with two children in the vehicle and is currently being questioned by police.
So far, no charges have been filed.
