A child was injured Friday afternoon when a Massachusetts school van's window was shattered by a thrown rock, officials confirm.
Brockton Public Schools says it happened Friday afternoon when a school van taking children home from West Middle School.
Officials say the child, who was not identified, was taken to a local hospital to treat a small cut on his or her cheek.
Police are actively investigating the incident.
"This kind of senseless act is very dangerous and puts our students and community at risk," Superintendent Kathleen Smith said in a statement.
No other details were immediately available.
