NH Man Working on Prison Release Pleads Guilty to Escape

A New Hampshire man who was working on his release from prison has pleaded guilty to escape.

U.S. Attorney Scott Murray said Friday that 37-year-old Liam Delorey, of Salem, pleaded guilty in federal court. He had been in federal custody since 2017.

Delorey was serving a sentence for violating the terms of supervised release following a conviction for narcotics distribution. In May, he was transferred from a Bureau of Prisons facility to a residential re-entry center in Manchester to start pre-release programming.

Murray said Delorey signed out of the center to go to work on June 18. He was supposed to return by 8 p.m. that night, but didn't show up until the following night and turned himself in to U.S. marshals.

Delorey is scheduled for sentencing on Nov. 8.
