Manhunt in Mass. for Suspect Wanted in NH Homicide

The search for a person of interest in a homicide in Concord, New Hampshire expanded to Massachusetts Saturday afternoon.

Authorities announced Saturday evening that the person they are looking for is Joseph King Hanright, 29, of Concord.

According to officials, Hanright was seen fleeing from a stolen car in the area of Swan and Prospect streets in Methuen, Massachusetts Saturday. Neighbors then spotted the suspect hiding in the bushes with a woman.

"Officers were dispatched to that area. The woman was taken into custody but the man ended up fleeing on foot," Methuen Police Capt. Kristopher McCarthy said.

Authorities asked residents in the area to remain inside as officials canvassed the area for the man they consider to be armed and dangerous. A state police helicopter helped in the search, which ended several hours later when authorities were unable to locate Hanright.

"Blocking off all the roads, choppers in the air, everything was being canvassed," Methuen resident Rob Parnell said.

Several residents received reverse 911 calls, telling them to shut their doors and windows and stay inside.

"They didn't go into much detail. Just that somebody was out there and call 911 if we see him," resident Kim Parnell said.

Hanright is described as an adult, white male between 5'8" and 5'10" with short hair. Officials believe he is wearing jean shorts, no shirt and possibly no shoes.

Anyone who sees this man is asked to call 911 immediately.

The suspect is being sought in connection with the death of Marshall John Villeneuve, 64, who was found in his home in Concord Friday, according to the office of Attorney General Gordon MacDonald. An autopsy conducted Saturday determined that Villeneuve died from multiple stab wounds.

The search for the suspect remains active at this time. Anyone with information is asked to call Concord Police at 603-225-8600.
