A Massachusetts man was taken into custody Monday and charged with attempted child rape.
Police and Homeland Security officials say 55-year-old Mark Baier of Milford was arrested after a sting operation. Baier allegedly posted on Craigslist that he wanted to meet a young girl.
After undercover police spoke with Baier online, he allegedly drove to Watson Park in Northborough, where he expected an 11-year-old girl to be brought to him for sex, according to police.
Baier was arraigned Monday in Westborough District Court on charges of enticing a minor under 16 and attempting to commit child rape.
It was not immediately clear if he had an attorney.
