Pedestrian hit and killed on Route 1A in East Boston

An investigation is underway after a person was hit and killed by a car in East Boston on Saturday night.

Police say the incident occurred shortly after 5p.m. on Route 1A and Addison Street. The pedestrian died at the scene.

The driver of the car involved in the crash stayed at the scene, police said.
