A line of heavy rain and thunder across Vermont and New Hampshire will continue to sink south towards Boston tonight... but after the evening drive home.

Meanwhile, the south coast, Cape Cop and the islands will continue to see heavy rainfall through early evening. We already have some reports of 0.75 to one inch of rainfall across the Rhode Island coast and areas across Cape Cod may see those totals, leading to some minor street flooding.

The humidity is helping to fuel the higher rainfall, and we keep showers around overnight. Areas of fog will develop where we dry off through Wednesday morning.

Showers and heavy rain will linger across southeastern Massachusetts through morning. We slowly dry out Wednesday afternoon as dewpoints drop on a northeast wind. Highs reach only the mid and upper 70s as breaks of sun appear in the afternoon.

Less humid air remains in place across northern New England on Thursday, while we will be a little humid south by Friday. Highs stay in the mid to upper 70s to wrap up the work week.

A few storms may develop as little shortwaves move through the northeast along a zonal flow. This means that even into the weekend there may be some rounds of rain and storms.

Temperatures increase to the mid 80s by Sunday as the humidity also rises. The jet stream finally seems to move next week and heads north of us, allowing for heat to build through next week.

We're not expecting any major warm ups, but staying at least consistently warm and muggy through the rest of the 10-day, which may fuel pop up storm chances each day.
