    Weather Forecast: Sunny and Breezy

Wednesday night: Partly cloudy, breezy, cool. Lows in the 20s. Thursday: Sunny, breezy. Highs near 40.

    (Published Thursday, Feb. 14, 2019)

A few lingering flurries and/or sprinkles linger across New England this evening. Otherwise, it will be breezy and partly cloudy with temperatures falling below freezing overnight. Lows will be in the teens north, 20s south, but feeling like the single digits in some places thanks to a persistent gusty west, southwest wind.

Valentine’s Day brings a forecast we can really love, light breezy, sunny and low 40s. Again watch for icy patches to redevelop overnight as temperatures drop below freezing into Friday morning.

Friday, a warm front will bring spotty rain through southern New England in the morning. There will be more of a wintry mix across the mountains. A dry patch will allow us to enjoy temperatures in the low 50s briefly before more widespread rain moves through in the late afternoon and evening. The cold front sweeps through Friday night, and we clear out to start the weekend.

Saturday we will have partly cloudy skies with highs in the low 40s.

Sunday temperatures will be in the mid-30s as we track a system passing to our south by evening. This one may bring light snow accumulation across southern New England.

Temperatures remain around 32 degrees for highs Monday through Friday next week and overnight lows around 20 degrees. The Jetstream position will be mostly zonal (west to east instead of amplified north to south), and right across or near to New England. Any disturbance that passes by will be tricky to forecast, in terms of track and what precipitation type. So we will watch the Sunday/Monday system as well as another wave of low-pressure Tuesday into Wednesday. We seem to dry off for the end of the 10-day.
