    Fun Free Fridays

    Highland Street Foundation’s Fun Free Fridays offers no-cost admission to some of the most treasured, cultural venues in the state. Today enjoy free admission to: the Franklin Park Zoo, the Boston Symphony Orchestra at Tanglewood, the Chatham Shark Center, the Children’s Museum at Holyoke, the Concord Museum, the International Volleyball Hall of Fame, the Lynn Museum, the Museum of Russian Icons, Naumkeag, The Trustees and the Old State House.

    Newport Jazz Festival

    Referred to as the grandfather of all jazz festivals, this event draws thousands of people from all over the world to Newport, Rhode Island — a city famed for its spectacular coastal scenery and awe-inspiring architecture. The Newport Jazz Festival was founded in 1954 as the first annual jazz festival in America and has been host to numerous legendary performances by some of the world’s leading established and emerging artists. 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Fort Adams State Park and the International Tennis Hall of Fame, Newport, RI.

    105th Annual Portuguese Feast of the Blessed Sacrament

    Founded in 1915 by four Madeiran immigrant men who wanted to recreate the religious festivals that were so common in the villages of their home island and to commemorate their safe passage to these American shores, this traditional mid-summer gathering for family and friends has become the Largest Portuguese Feast in the World and the largest ethnic festival in New England. Enjoy continuous live Portuguese and American entertainment at five performance locations at this event that attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors annually from around the world. Noon to 11:45 p.m., Madeira Field, New Bedford.

    Trillium Garden on the Greenway

    The Trillium Garden returns to the Greenway Wednesday through Sunday. Located at the corner of High Street and Atlantic Avenue, the Trillium Garden on the Greenway is Boston's first fully open-air Beer Garden, featuring draft beers by Trillium Brewing Co. and wine by Westport Rivers Winery. 2-10 p.m., Rose Kennedy Greenway, Boston.

    City Winery on The Greenway

    City Winery Boston and the Greenway Conservancy bring City Winery on The Greenway to Dewey Square this summer.     ICA First Friday: White Hot Vol. 6
