A Cuban restaurant that moved from Belmont to Waltham a few years ago may be opening a new location in Cambridge, taking over the space where a French and Cambodian spot had been.

According to a license commission hearing agenda page on the City of Cambridge website, Gustazo Cuban Cafe is looking to open on Mass. Ave., with the address given indicating that it would be moving into the building where The Elephant Walk had been until it closed around the beginning of 2017. The hearing notice description seems to confirm that this would indeed be The Elephant Walk space, with a dining room and bar on the ground floor and two dining rooms and a bar on the floor below, and it also mentions that there would be patio seating as well. It is not yet known whether this would be a second location or a move for Gustazo Cuban Cafe; we have reached out to the place and are currently waiting to hear back.

Interestingly enough, the space that Gustazo Cuban Cafe moved into in Waltham in the fall of 2014 had once been home to an Elephant Walk as well.

The address for this proposed Cuban restaurant in Cambridge is: Gustazo Cuban Cafe, 2067 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA, 02140. The website for the Waltham location can be found at
