If you enjoying drinking beer, wine and cocktails al fresco, this is the season for you! Lots of news about beer and wine gardens popping up all over Boston!  Here’s a quick guide to drinking outside!

    It’s wine’s turn

Boston’s first and only outdoor wine garden, City Winery on The Greenway, is now open on the Rose Kennedy Greenway on Dewey Square. City Winery will be serving their award-winning locally crafted wine on tap, including multiple varieties of reds, whites, and rosé. In addition to lots of delicious wine, City Winery has partnered with Harpoon to offer locally-made craft beer and cider. They will also feature a Mediterranean-inspired menu of charcuterie, cheeses, olives and nuts which will pair perfectly with wine! We can’t wait!

    Beer by the ocean

The Boston Harbor Hotel announced that it is launching a new outdoor beer garden featuring local breweries called Brewer’s Alley.  It will be open seven days a week, weather permitting. The space boasts a 25-foot outdoor bar and communal-style seating with water views.

    More pop-ups

Trillium Brewing will be back for another season on the Rose Kennedy Greenway this spring. On City Hall Plaza, the Patios will be back with beer garden, margaritas and more beginning May 2nd.

    Locally in Dot

We can’t forget about the Dorchester Brewing Co. news either. They recently broke ground on Tuesday on a $3 million expansion – including a restaurant, roof deck, game room and greenhouse!

    Cisco Brewers in the Seaport

Cisco Brewers Pop Up is back by popular demand with a second season of its “Island Vibes” featuring more award-winning craft beer and wines, more live music and even more food trucks. The Seaport pop-up will be bigger and better this season with the addition of  two additional bars that will feature Cisco’s innovative beers and Nantucket Vineyard wine based cocktails inspired by Triple Eight Distillery. Guests will be able to pair the Cisco offerings with fresh seafood and tacos Loco Taqueria & Oyster Bar!  More local food offering will be announced later this spring.  Opening date is May 14th.  They will be open six days a week.  Check out their hours here!

    Beer Garden Regulations

This could be the last season before new regulations are put in place for beer garden one-day licenses.  You can read about that here.  But until then, cheers to drinking outside!
