The former administrative assistant for a Massachusetts police department is facing larceny charges after an audit determined about $5,200 in cash payments for firearms licenses was missing.
Masslive.com reported Friday that 57-year-old Lisa Bouchard, pleaded not guilty in connection with the money missing from the Wilbraham Police Department.
Her lawyer, Daniel Kelly, said his client has been wrongly accused and called the allegations "outrageous."
Bouchard has resigned.
She was charged this summer after an audit determined that while the department has several officers trained to process gun license applications, Bouchard handled all the money.
The town charges $100 to process an application for a firearms identification card or for a license to carry.
The investigation also determined Bouchard did not pay $100 for her own license-to-carry renewal.
