Colder Temps This Week

Everything freezes in place Monday night as temperatures fall into the 20s and well below freezing. Highs will be in the low to mid 30s Tuesday, with some afternoon clouds developing. Some areas across northern New England could see a flurry or snow shower, but most of us will stay dry. More melting is expected over the next several days with the higher March sun angle.

Wednesday and Thursday, our high temperatures will only be in the 20s, and overnight lows in the teens. High pressure continues to build to our southwest and will keep us dry for the most part. A couple shortwaves could trigger isolated flurries through Thursday.

An area of low pressure passes just to our south Friday, but this is a weak system, so we aren't expecting any precipitation from it unless the models shift.

A bigger system moves in from the Ohio Valley Sunday into Monday. Warm air surges in from the south and highs will near the low 50s by Monday, so we have rain in the forecast. Milder temperatures seem to stick around into the next week with highs in the low 40s to low 50s.

As a reminder, daylight saving time begins early Sunday morning, so spring ahead one hour. It is also a good time to check smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors. Our sunrise on Sunday will be at 7:05 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:44 p.m.
