Actor, producer and Dorchester native Mark Wahlberg is expanding his horizons and launching a car dealership in Columbus, Ohio.
Wahlberg has partnered with his longtime friend, Jay Feldman, to open Mark Wahlberg Chevrolet.
According to PR Newswire, Wahlberg and Feldman also recently became partners in a Wahlburgers restaurant in Cleveland. Wahlburgers is the restaurant chain Wahlberg began with his brothers, Donnie and Paul, and is franchised throughout the United States and Canada.
Wahlberg said he and Feldman had talked about opening a car dealership since last year. Feldman already owns eight dealerships throughout southeast and mid-Michigan.
"I am continuously looking for ways to innovate my brand and engage in businesses I am passionate about," Wahlberg told PR Newswire. "I love cars and the chance to work with an experienced, proven dealer-operator like Jay and represent an iconic brand like Chevrolet inspired me to get involved."
The two plan to open additional dealerships sometime in the future.
