Belichick Talks About Brady’s 2018 Commitment

The team is recovering from their Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles

The New England Patriots hit the field Thursday with training camp officially in session.

"Well, it's a long day. It's a big day. We have a lot of opportunities today to get better," head coach Bill Belichick said."Hopefully, we can maximize all of them or as many as possible. That's our goal every day."

And with the start of training camp, more questions about the relationship between Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady. Belichick was asked if he was glad to see Brady at camp after the star missed most of the off-season program.

"Well, all the quarterbacks are required to report, and they all did like they always do. So, Tom's never missed anything that's been required," Belichick said.

Belichick was then asked whether he was concerned about Brady's commitment to the season. His answer, "No."

The Patriots are looking to rebound from their heartbreaking 41-33 Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

"I'm focused on doing the best I can for the 2018 Patriots," Belichick said to the media a day before training camp's start.

On Wednesday Belichick also addressed wide receiver Julian Edelman’s four-game suspension.

"We're all disappointed but it is what it is," he said. "He moved on, we moved on. Just take what we have now and do the best we can do with it. I know he’s been here the last couple of days and he’s got a good attitude, good work ethic and he'll make the most of the opportunities that he has."

Edelman was suspended for violating the NFL's performance-enhancing substances policy.
