Thunderstorms Possible With This Weekend's Downpours

Although the week will end on a mild note, rain will become more widespread across New England during the coming days.

Thursday will generally be mostly cloudy across New England, with scattered showers mainly north and west of Boston. These showers will develop along a boundary cutting through the area.

In Northern New England, we’re on the cool side of the front, with highs in the 40s and 50s.

In Southern New England, we’re on the mild side of the front, with highs in the 60s. We’ll also have the sunniest breaks in parts of Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Southeastern Massachusetts.

Clouds will return and fill in overnight, with another round of showers breaking out towards dawn. Lows will mainly be in the 40s and 50s.

Friday will be windy and warm with highs for many in the 60s, except where it’s still chillier in far Northern New England.

Rounds of showers, downpours, and even some thunderstorms will come through during the day. It won't be raining every minute of the day, but it will be soggy enough where you’ll want the umbrella at the ready.

The heaviest rain arrives Friday night and Saturday morning. The rain will then gradually end, with some clearing, during the afternoon.

Total rainfall will range from 1-to-2-inches in most spots, with locally higher amounts.

Sunday will be bright and sunny with highs in the 40s and 50s.

By kickoff in Foxborough temperatures will be in the 40s. Chilly, but typical of November.
