    A tree fell, knocking out power to some residents in Watertown, Massachusetts.

    A tree fell Friday night in Watertown, Massachusetts, knocking out power to residents.

    Police believe strong wind gusts caused the tree to come down.

    Severe weather was passing through much of New England late Friday. Tornado warnings were in effect for a short time in New Hampshire earlier in the evening, and watches and warnings for severe thunderstorms and flooding were declared in many parts of New England.

    Police say a 20-month-old was stabbed to death, then burned in an oven in a home in Shaw, Mississippi. The toddler's 48-year-old grandmother, Carolyn Jones, was charged with first-degree murder and is being held on a $500,000 bond.
