The Olympic athletes with ties to New England have been contributing to the U.S. medal count at the 2018 Winter Games and some also made history.
Jessie Diggins, who lives in Stratton, Vermont, won the first-ever U.S. gold medal in cross-country skiing, and Chris Mazdzer from Pittsfield, Massachusetts, became the first American to ever win a luge medal, a silver. While the women's hockey team had previously won gold, their 2018 story was arguably the most noteworthy victory at these Winter Games.
