A Massachusetts man who previously served prison time for sexually abusing a child is now heading back to prison after pleading guilty to raping another boy.
The Salem News reports 27-year-old Scott Deschenes was sentenced to seven to 10 years in prison Tuesday in connection with the March assault.
Deschenes was serving probation for his previous conviction when he met the 12-year-old victim. Prosecutors say Deschenes invited the boy to his Salem apartment to play video games and then raped the child.
State police linked Deschenes to the assault through a GPS device he was mandated to wear and DNA evidence.
Deschenes' defense attorney said Tuesday the sentencing will give his client time to work on his own issues.
