Vandal Slashes 12 Holiday Inflatables on Front Lawn

Twin 4-year-olds, Anthony and Gianna, gave NBC10 Boston a tour of their slashed holiday inflatables on their front lawn on Wethersfield Road in Natick, Massachusetts.

"Last night, unfortunately, 12 out of my 13 were slashed," said their mother, Angela Hoyt. "So someone came through the yard and went to town."

Hoyt says she first noticed Wednesday before bed.

"My job is to shut them off about 9 o'clock, and I came out to the window where my switch is and I thought, 'Jeez, they don't look right.'"

Hoyt also says the inflatables have brought joy to the neighborhood over the years.

"It's upsetting to not only my kids, but families in the neighborhood who drive by every night, slow down, take a look and go out of their way," Hoyt said.

The family says home surveillance caught images of the alleged vandal.

"I've heard of two other houses that got hit last night at the same time," said Matt Hoyt.

Word of the vandalism is now spreading, and while we were interviewing the family, a neighbor dropped off one of their inflatables out of good will.

The Hoyt family says they feel violated and want to know why.

"Unfortunately, they fell victim to someone's cruel, cruel deed," Angela Hoyt said of the inflatables.

The family estimates all of the inflatables cost more than $1,000.
