Don’t let Saturday’s beautiful weather fool you, we’re not done with winter yet.

Clouds will increase tonight as lows drop back into the 20s and 30s for most spots, except in Maine where it will be colder.

Don’t forget to spring forward before bed!

After that a storm right now in the middle of the country will bring a burst of snow to New England on Sunday, which eventually changes to a mix and rain in many cases.

The snow arrives first in Western New England by about 6 a.m., then from 7-9 a.m. it spreads east towards Greater Boston. Temperatures will be marginal and near freezing, so well treated roads will likely stay mostly slushy and wet.

By lunch time warmer air will be blowing in out of the east-southeast, so the rain/snow line will migrate northward to about the Mass Pike, with snow north and rain south.

That continues to slide north as temperatures reach the 30s and low 40s during the afternoon, when most spots will be over to plain rain. The only exception is in the mountains of Northern New England where it will snow most of the day.

Expect a slushy dusting-1” for most of the Boston area points south, with 1-3” north and west of the city. The high terrain of Northern New England will get 3-6” of snow as we see it now.

We’ll clear out behind the storm Sunday night, with a mix of sun and clouds on Monday except in the mountains where some snow showers linger. Highs will be in the 40s.

Tuesday and Wednesday are cooler, in the 30s to near 40, but late week temperatures will likely surge into the 50s and even near 60!

We should settle back close to normal—highs in the 40s—around and after St. Patrick’s Day.
