Woman Hospitalized After Being Struck by Commuter Rail Train in Concord

Authorities are investigating after a pedestrian was struck by a Commuter Rail train Thursday afternoon in Concord, Massachusetts.

The incident happened at 12:50 p.m. at the MBTA Concord Station on Sudbury Road.

Transit Police said the 70-year-old female victim who was struck by an inbound train on the Fitchburg line sustained serious injuries. The victim, who has not been identified, was taken by medical helicopter to a Boston area hospital for treatment.

No other injuries were reported.

Transit Police detectives are investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident.
