Carla Rojo

Carla Cristina Rojo joined NBC10 Boston, NECN and Telemundo Nueva Inglaterra in November 2018 as a bilingual reporter.

She is an Emmy Award winning journalist, covering everything from breaking news, immigration, education, live events and sports in the New England area that especially impacts the BIPOC community. She also, fills in as a weather anchor on our sister station Telemundo Nueva Inglaterra.

Before joining the NBC Universal family, Carla was a reporter and fill-in anchor for Univision Boston for three years. She got her start in TV as a student reporter for The Morning Show on NECN back in 2013.

Carla is a proud first-generation Colombian-American; both of her parents immigrated to the USA from Medellin, Colombia. Born and raised in Lowell, Massachusetts, she is a proud product of the "Mill City" and feels extremely lucky to have grown up in such a diverse area, where her family still resides.

She graduated from Lowell High School in 2008 and went on to study communications at Middlesex Community College, where she graduated with her associate's degree, all while being a part of the Theatre Department and working full time. She also received the "Distinguished Alumni Award" from MCC.

Carla then became the first from her family to graduate from college, receiving her bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism, with honors, from Suffolk University in 2014.

In her free time she loves to spend time with her family, travel, try new restaurants and visit local schools to mentor students.
